Also to help educate all students on the black experience and how they can change the world we live in for the benefit of everyone; not just the majority. The intent of Captain’s Council is to have a process in developing leaders within our athletic programs and allow student-athletes to grow in their leadership skills here in the Timberland Community. The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.


Invitations to apply for membership are sent out in February to all Sophomores and Juniors with a minimum of a 3.6 cumulative gpa.


Once inducted, members fulfill obligations of required service hours each year, required monthly meetings, required group projects, required fundraisers and must maintain the pillars of Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. 


The chapter follows bylaws created by the national chapter as well as local chapter by-laws approved by a Faculty Council. We are happy to share this information.

As new students enroll, we invite them to participate in monthly meetings during Den time. Speak with current students and other new students about some of the challenges facing transfer students.  This club’s goal is to answer new  student  questions and help them feel “a part of the pack”. The Ratchet Rockers are the award-winning robotics team at Wentzville School District.

Meetings: 

• Off Season (May- December) Monday meetings 5-8 pm and occasional special events and competitions

• In Season (January- April) Monday-Thursday 5-8 pm and Saturdays 9 am-5 pm plus occasional competitions and outreach events. Students are not required to attend all meetings, they may flex their time.

Memberships Requirements: Students and Volunteering Parents must register with FIRST

Membership Dues: Dues $120 (financial aid available) + travel fees for all competitions. Students can fundraise to cover all costs.

Love debating? Do politics intrigue you? Want to be a political reporter? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a senator or governor? Then YAG is the club for you! Students participate in legislative debate and media coverage, culminating in a conference where students can debate with students from across the state.
